Bodhi Jones - The Perfect Antidote for LA Traffic

>> Tuesday, December 1, 2009

There are times in life when you stumble across the "right" thing at exactly the "right" moment. For me, the "right" thing just happened to be listening to a few tracks of a singer I'd never heard of before -- the "right" moment, well, fifteen minutes after completing my four hour drive from LA back home to Palm Springs, CA. Blurry-eyed, grumpy, short-fused and craving a cigarette, I took my computer outside to check my email -- within a matter of minutes, I'd totally forgotten about my sore tail bone and embarked on a new journey with Bodhi Jones while I watched the stars.

A user generated submission to my site UgPie led me to Bodhi's site: www.bodhijones.com. For those of you that understand the what 4 hours on the I10 out of LA at rush hour can do to ones soul (not to mention your blood pressure), trust me, a few minutes with Bodhi Jones will make every mile seem worth while.

My picks...
"Won't let go" -- track 3 on his home page's player
His video "5th Floor" on the Photos & Film page

In addition to checking out Bodhi's site, you can catch his UgPie listing by clicking on the following link: http://www.ugpie.com/directory/5.html

Brewing success for small businesses one cup at a time.

>> Wednesday, August 26, 2009

Jennifer Matthieu, a multimedia designer based out of Marina del Rey, Ca., seems to deliver something tasty and refreshing for each and every client she serves. What sets Jennifer apart from other creatives that specialize in interactive, print and branding identity design is her unique approach to the design process.

Jennifer explains, "...with my non-corporate clients...the small business owner or consultants more specifically, I really need to get to know them before I even sit down to design." She elaborates, "gaining insight into my clients is the preliminary step I take towards understanding -- understanding where my clients are now -- an understanding of where they want to go. It's the insight I gain through them that helps me understand how I can help them reach their goals through design."

When asked about her design businesses name, A Cup of Design (www.acupofdesign.com), Jennifer laughs, "for me, the cup is like a blank canvas when a client comes to me. Fill it with the perfect blend of their vision, goals and insights gained through getting to know them, and you create something unique.

Given the current state of the economy, Jennifer is seeing more and more people starting their own businesses. Jennifer concludes, "...now, more than ever before, a designer not only needs to deliver "eye-catching"...she/he needs to deliver a first-impression that sticks...something that will truly speak to their target audience.

Helping Traders and Investors Find Piece of Mind in Today’s Markets

Lately, it seems as though everyone and their mother has their eyes fixated on the stock market. "What did the DOW do today?" "Can we look to the market for any signs of relief for an economy burdened with unprecedented unemployment numbers?" "When can I put my money back into the market?" "Will I ever be able to retire?" These questions are all too common when listening to the morning or evening news programs.

So many have lost so much -- but it's nearly impossible to point a finger at one specific cause for the uncertainty many Americans feel in this spectacular time of chaos and change in the markets. With corrupt money managers, huge businesses that care more about their bottom line than helping their neighbors, "too good to be true" mortgages, and both major political parties spending more time butting heads and filling the airwaves with their biased perspectives, how can the "average Joe/Jane" empower him/herself for the rough road ahead -- or try to make sense of it all?

Josie Kelly, veteran market technician with over 30 years of experience in the investment business may have found the answer. Passionate about empowering traders and investors of all levels, Ms. Kelly recently launched an online community dedicated to helping others discover calm in the midst of economic chaos and change. Ms. Kelly explains, "...people are hungry for information. The Trader's Oasis (www.tradersoasis.com) was developed to provide an easily accessible source of perspective and insight for traders and investors looking to travel the markets with clarity."

“Much of my success is based on extensive study and the ability to take advantage of the opportunities I recognize,” says Ms. Kelly. She continued, "it's my insight and market knowledge I hope to share with others eager to learn more about the makets."
Ms. Kelly just launched TraderStream (www.traderstream.com) -- a blog dedicated to providing daily market observations and personal insight through the eyes of veteran market technicians.

In addition to her free daily updates, Ms. Kelly, based in Southern California, provides a fee-based Portfolio Analysis consulting service.
