Brewing success for small businesses one cup at a time.

Jennifer Matthieu, a multimedia designer based out of Marina del Rey, Ca., seems to deliver something tasty and refreshing for each and every client she serves. What sets Jennifer apart from other creatives that specialize in interactive, print and branding identity design is her unique approach to the design process.

Jennifer explains, "...with my non-corporate clients...the small business owner or consultants more specifically, I really need to get to know them before I even sit down to design." She elaborates, "gaining insight into my clients is the preliminary step I take towards understanding -- understanding where my clients are now -- an understanding of where they want to go. It's the insight I gain through them that helps me understand how I can help them reach their goals through design."

When asked about her design businesses name, A Cup of Design (www.acupofdesign.com), Jennifer laughs, "for me, the cup is like a blank canvas when a client comes to me. Fill it with the perfect blend of their vision, goals and insights gained through getting to know them, and you create something unique.

Given the current state of the economy, Jennifer is seeing more and more people starting their own businesses. Jennifer concludes, "...now, more than ever before, a designer not only needs to deliver "eye-catching"...she/he needs to deliver a first-impression that sticks...something that will truly speak to their target audience.
